Loving my new lens

I got a new lens for my camera off Ebay. I got a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II

I LOVE this lens. I still have no idea what I am doing with it but my pictures are looking a lot better.

Got Denied

I have been trying to apply to USC since the beginning of summer to finally finish my last two years of my bachelor's degree. Well after complications with my transcripts, I finally got my letter in the mail on Saturday. I was denied!!! WHAT??? According to USC, I don't have a 3.0 or higher and I have never taken a college level Calculus class. I can understand not admitting me to the School of Business because of the Calculus class but to deny me from the school all together. Not sure where they are getting I don't have a 3.o or higher, according to my transcripts I have a 3.59.

Of course when I went up there today to talk with someone, NO ONE from admission is there until Wednesday. :(

Watched The Secret Life of Bees on DVD last night. Pretty good movie. I had read the book by Sue Monk Kidd first. It did follow the book pretty well.

Sensory Friendly Movies

Taking the kids to the movies. This will be Kyan's first movie. Austism Society of America is doing Sensory Friendly Films w/ AMC theaters. We are going to see Disney Pixar's UP. It looks super cute.

This Week

Busy week this week. Summer camp at church, ballet at the YMCA and gymnastics.

Family Connection at EdVenture

Family Connection of South Carolina was offering free admission to EdVenture here in Columbia to childen with special needs and their families. They have a butterfly garden exhibit open. It was so much fun to see the kids reactions to the butterflies. Plus fun to play with my camera.

2 Birthday parties today. One of them at Chuckie Cheese's no less. Talk about a crazy day. I am waiting till tonight maybe a bottle of wine?

Zoo times 2

Both kids had school field trips to the Zoo today. I decided to go with Kyan's class as a chaperone since I had just went on a field trip to Kroger with Nevaeh.

Kyan's IEP

Kyan has done great his first year in preschool for kid's with autism. He will be going to ESY (Extended School Year) and will be in the same class next year. They are also talking that if he continues to do this well, he will be mainstreamed into regular kindergarten. Yeah Kyan!

Happy Anniversary!

Wow it has been 9 years today that I married Trey. Of course celebrating it alone isn't much fun. Maybe next year for our 10th we can do something fun!

Mom & Daughter Fondue Night

Nevaeh & I went to Mother/Daughter Fondue Night at the YMCA tonight. It was fun. We watched a movie "Ella Enchanted". Then she ditched me to play soccer with some other girls there. I took my camera put didn't take any pictures. :(

Yesterday

Kyan did great! He was pretty scared at first and kept saying he wanted to go home. He really didn't like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy & Donald. He kept crying when they came out. But the rest of it he loved. Not so sure he liked the Tinkerbell part, wasn't his scene like it was Nevaeh's. I spent a small fortune!!

Today

Taking the kids to see Disney on Ice Worlds of Fantasy. Little nervous taking Kyan to something like this. Nevaeh will do great, I am sure, but not sure how Kyan will react. Wish me luck!

Today

Nevaeh's going to a birthday party at her old gymnastic's place, Carolina Gymnastics. Then I have an adult scavenger hunt with church. Never been on one of these, so it should be fun!

Great Website & Book!!

I found an awesome website, Goodreads. And just finished reading an awesome book, The Shack by William P Young. It was a great book. It was hard at first to read because of what happens to his daughter. Having a young daughter made that part hard to read but once you got past that the rest was excellent.

Lake Carolina's Yard Sale Today

I LOVE this yard sale. I never get to finish the whole thing. Jennifer came with me to look for some stuff for the baby. Busy day! Have Autism Family Fun day with Richland School District 2 and ABA therapy too!

Dying Eggs w/ Friends

Jennifer and Kameron came over today to dye easter eggs with us. Kameron absolutely loved it! He got a little crazy though and would throw the eggs into the dye cups!

The kids got a chance to hunt for eggs again today at church. Nevaeh was the only girl in her group!

Hunting for Eggs at School

I went to help out the teacher's at Kyan's school hide easter eggs for the kids. Kyan had a blast. Took longer for us to hide the eggs then it did for them to find them.

Spring Performance

Nevaeh's spring performance was tonight at Richland Northeast High. I was playing with my new camera and have come to realize that I need a zoom lens. They are just super expensive. Anyone have any suggestions on a good zoom lens??? Her dress was a total last minute thing. I never have any time to get anything done. So I left about half hour early for the performance to head to Gymboree to get it. Yes, I realize I am a Gymboree addict!

Got a Renter!

Finally after showing the house to every slug and deadbeat in Richland County, we found a renter!!!! Yeah!

Anyone need to rent a house?

Our renter's moved out today. Wow did they destroy the house! I can't believe it. Guess they won't be getting their deposit back. I went over their after I had gotten done taking Kyan to the doctor for a high fever. Because of him having a port everytime he spikes a high fever we have to get labs to see if he has a blood infection.

Got these super cute shirts for the kids from Gymboree. I especially love Kyan's shirt! He is a true ladies man! They wore them to school today.

Took Trey back to the airport today. 2 weeks isn't long enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rummage Sale Today

Went to the Junior League Rummage sale at the fair grounds today. Wow! Never been before but it was crazy. Trey ended up taking the kids to the car, too many people there. Did find some good stuff but then missed out on some good stuff to not getting there early enough.

100th Day of School Project

We had to make a 100th day of school project for Nevaeh's class. It had to be 100 of something in groups of 10. We made the number 100 out of buttons on poster board.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today I am 34. Blah! We took both dogs for their annual checkups at Fort Jackson. Then went out to dinner with Trey and the kids at Texas Roadhouse. Yum!

My husband came home today for the start of his 2 week R&R. Great birthday present. Don't know what is better, my husband coming home or my new camera. LOL!!!

Got My New Baby!

Got a Canon Digi Rebel XS from Circuit City today. It's an early birthday present to myself. I have no idea how to use it yet.

No School Today Huge Snow Storm!!

South Carolina is pretty funny. School was canceled today due to a snow storm that never showed up!! Nevaeh was supposed to have an Inauguration Ball at school that she was super excited about. Well guess not today! People should be required to live in Alaska for at least one winter to learn that snow isn't that bad to drive on. You just have to know how to do it!

Also got a call that I didn't get the job at the church. Oh well!! I will keep looking or maybe this is Gods way of saying I just need to go back to College instead.

Went on a job interview today for an office assistant for a local Lutheran church. It seemed to go well. Hopefully I will get it.

Gingerbread House gone terribly wrong!!!

Ok, we have done a gingerbread house for the past 2 years, this being our third year making one. So you think by now I wouldn't be able to really screw it up. I guess I just wasn't feeling it this year?? I made the icing really to thin. So our first attempt all the icing rolled off the roof and sides of the house onto the table.

So I tried to salvage what I could and added more powdered sugar to it to thicken it up. Well it still didn't really turn out that great but at least the kids had fun making a complete mess!!!

Myrtle Beach

It's was time for the annual Hemophilia of South Carolina's Christmas party. I went alone with the kids this year. Not too bad but kind of hectic crazy as well. Here are some pictures of the kids on our balcony at the hotel. These were right before the crazy pigeons flew in to eat a stale oreo from a prior hotel patron!! Then I got the bright idea to open the door and toss them a piece of donut that Kyan didn't eat. Talk about a scene from The Birds!!!!!!

My Baby is 6!!!

I went to Nevaeh's school today to pass out cupcakes to her class. Her teachers planted some big bright kisses on her. She wasn't allowed to wash them off till she got home!!
